Restoration of the Historic Falls Village RR Depot
Falls Village, Connecticut
The two phase restoration of the Historic Falls Village Railroad Depot included a new museum for the Falls Village / Canaan Historical Society and “Gateway” Center for the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area.
Phase One included exterior and interior restorations to an 1840’s Federalist Style Railroad Depot. Work included exterior restorations including new roof, cladding repair, window replacements lighting; recreation of train platform; and installation of ADA accessible stairs and ramp, Interior restorations included new unisex bathroom, wall restorations, and installation of systems infrastructure in anticipation of development of museum spaces. Phase two will involve development of interpretive exhibits for Historical Society.
Services included architecture, MEP, archeological survey, historic consulting and site design.
