Beinecke Rare Book Library
New Haven, Connecticut
A modern masterpiece at Yale University, the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library project included a series of renovation and restoration projects spanning 10 years. The projects included reconstruction and refurnishing of all office spaces, technical and public service areas, main charging desk, conversion of 50,000 SF of fixed stacks to compact shelving, constructing new multi-purpose classrooms and electronic media facilities, rewiring all areas for computer networks and sophisticated security and fire protection systems. All work was done while preserving the integrity of this 1962 icon building by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore Owings & Merrill.
Services included architectural and interior design services with consultants for structural and MEP engineering.
